SUBSIDENCE & HEAVE

We have extensive experience in dealing with all aspects of subsidence and heave damage from initial diagnosis to mitigation and monitoring, to specification of remedial works and contract administration. Progress Consulting can work with your insurers, loss adjuster and/or loss assessor and any restoration companies appointed. We can prepare schedules of work and specifications, arrange a competitive tender and project manage the repairs to completion. DAMP SURVEYS

We undertake many damp surveys throughout the year. Our damp proofing specialist will assess and correctly diagnose the extent and type of dampness then provide recommendations on specific damp proof treatments for the most effective ways to treat your specific damp problem.

The most common cause of damp are;
  • Condensation.
  • No damp proof course or failure of an existing damp proof course.
  • High ground outside bridging an existing damp proof course.
  • Internal plastering bridging an existing damp proof course.
  • Bridging of damp proof course due to build-up of rubble or rubbish inside a cavity wall.
  • Residual dampness at the base of the wall following a previous damp problem.
  • Leaking water pipes.

STRUCTURAL CALCULATIONS

We undertake a wide variety of structural design from sizing a lintel over an opening, to designing an extension, loft conversion, underpinning or retaining walls of all shapes and sizes. In most cases the local consultant will visit before passing the details to our Structural unit who will then prepare building regulation compliant designs and drawings as required. The local Engineer or Surveyor remains the point of contact throughout the works.

VALUATIONS

We undertake rebuilding cost valuations for insurance purposes. These are undertaken for properties as wide ranging as large domestic houses, commercial and industrial units, land owner estates and housing associations. This service offers a particularly cost effective solution for clients with large property portfolios.
